Entity Intro
Sometimes we want to start our informational pages with two columns instead of a hero or single column block of content. Most commonly this two column layout consists of an image or video on one column and some key details about the context of the page on the other. Entity Intro is the right tool for this layout.
There's some flexibility with the Entity Intro block that allows us to use it for various use cases. Let's dive in to learn about how the example above is set up.
To achieve the end result in our example at the top of the page is fairly straight forward. Consider the following fields:
Entity Title - Clearly the title to the section.
Brand Logo - An optional field where a logo can be uploaded to be displayed to the right of Title
Summary - This is a good area for subheading text or even a brief intro to what the page is about.
Bullet List Title - An optional field where we can add a title for our bullet list.
Bullet List - Optionally gives us the ability to highlight specific points relevant to our content (blue check marks included automatically).
Featured Image - The main image we will display in our section.
Additional Images Block - If we wish to add more than one image to our area a slideshow with thumbnails will appear to neatly display additional images.
Form - Although not included in our first example, selecting this form toggle will display a Quote Request form on our page to help convert potential customers into actual customers.
As noted in our description of fields for this set, there are several marked optional. It's good practice to think about the purpose of the page we're building and the use case.
The Entity Intro block offers a versatile solution for structuring informational pages with a two-column layout at the top of the page. It includes fields like Entity Title, Brand Logo, Summary, Bullet List, Featured Image, Additional Images Block, and Form toggle. These fields cater to various use cases, with optional features allowing customization based on the page's purpose and audience.
