In the storage of certain chemicals and liquids, plastic tanks have become the standard, replacing steel and other materials. Well known for their corrosion resistance and durability, plastic materials hold up extremely well to corrosive chemicals and are lightweight and easier to handle than steel and other more traditional materials.

Plastic tanks such as chemical tanks are most commonly manufactured out of polypropylene, HDPE (high density polyethylene), or PVC (polyvinyl chloride) sheet, which is cut to size and then welded into shape. These materials can also be retrofitted into a specific site much easier and at a lower cost than steel tanks.
