POLYOLEFIN SIGN GRADE SHEET
Polyolefins are most often referred to as polyethylene and polypropylene (PE and PP). These products are recognized for their light weight and comparatively low cost. Polyethylene and polypropylene are available in various densities and molecular structure. Because of their excellent resistance to solvents, polyolefins are not chemically bondable. However, when bonding is required, they can be bonded by thermal wielding with low cost hot air welding equipment, or by mechanical fasteners.
Fluted (corrugated) Polypropylene (PP) sheet, a polyolefin product, is a lightweight, material known for its versatility across many industries and applications. Fluted PP is used in Graphic Arts, Packaging, Agriculture, Automotive and Industrial markets. Common applications include signage, trade show and retail display, binding/stationary, crates, as separators or liners in packaging, vehicle trunk liners, and more. Sturdy, reusable, recyclable, returnable, waterproof fluted polypropylene shipping containers are superior to corrugated paper and perfect for fresh-cut asparagus and celery, vine-picked grapes, and ice-packed corn and broccoli. Polypropylene offers good resistance to chemical or acid attacks and has low moisture absorption and superior electrical insulation.
HDPE (high density polyethylene) ColorCore® is another popular polyolefin sign product. With it's outstanding outdoor durability and unique color design, ColorCore® is excellent for long term outdoor signage and it's machineability allows for creative custom signage.
