PETG is a thermoplastic that can be used in a wide variety of markets in a number of different applications. PETG offers excellent clarity, good impact strength, superior thermoforming and fabrication characteristics, and excellent resistance to chemicals. The material is tougher than acrylic and impact-modified acrylic, providing fabricators with durable, long-lasting parts. PETG’s superior thermoforming characteristics allow it to be cold bent without showing any stress whitening, making it optimal for retail display cases and store fixtures among many other applications.
In addition to PETG’s machinability and thermoforming characteristics it also meets FDA requirements for food contact, and ANSI Z87.1 requirements for occupational and educational personal eye protection devices, broadening the number of applications even further. PETG offers excellent printability through silk screening or hot stamping and it is easily painted making it a solution for graphic arts applications as well.
